What Takeflight does
Design and development of websites and online shops, hosting and ongoing care through the Flight Plan, search setup, copywriting, brand work and photography, for small and medium businesses. The services page describes each of these.
How projects are agreed and priced
Nothing on this website is an offer to sell at a set price. Every project is quoted in a written proposal after a conversation. Work starts only once you have accepted the proposal and signed the client agreement, which sets out the price, what is included, the timeline, who owns what and how either side can end the arrangement. You can ask for a copy of the client agreement at any time before you sign.
Payment
Payment is by electronic funds transfer to the company's bank account. Smaller projects start with a deposit of at least 30%, with the balance paid on completion or spread over up to 12 months, interest free. Larger projects are paid in stages set out in the proposal. Flight Plans are billed monthly.
Delivery
Websites are delivered online. The timeline is set in each proposal and depends partly on how quickly content and feedback come back.
Cancelling
If you are an individual or a sole proprietor and you agree to a project electronically, you may cancel within seven days without reason or penalty under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. That right does not cover work you asked me to start within those seven days. Other cancellation terms are in the client agreement, and the Consumer Protection Act applies where it covers you.
Privacy and security
How personal information is handled is set out in the privacy policy. Requests for records are dealt with under the PAIA manual. This website runs over HTTPS, and forms are protected against spam and abuse.
Complaints and disputes
If something is not right, tell me first at hello@takeflight.co.za and I will reply within five business days. If we cannot settle it between us, either side may refer it to mediation before going to court. You may also contact the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud(opens in a new tab) where the Consumer Protection Act applies to you.
